The Opportunity
We are seeking a high-calibre Engineering Supervisor to lead the technical service delivery for a prestigious, high-end commercial tenant contract in Central London. Our client is a global leader in real estate and facilities management, trusted by the world's most successful corporations. This role is based within a flagship, high-spec corporate headquarters, managing the critical engineering infrastructure exclusively for a premium blue-chip occupier. This is an exceptional opportunity designed for a senior engineer ready to step up, combining strong hands-on technical authority with team leadership, corporate client diplomacy, and compliance governance.
The Role
As the Engineering Supervisor, you will be the primary technical authority on the floor. You will balance the operational management of a dedicated shift or day engineering team with the high-touch, fast-paced service standards required by elite corporate tenants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Team & Operational Leadership
- Engineering Supervision: Coordinate, support, and mentor a team of multi-skilled engineers, overseeing daily Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and high-volume reactive workloads via the CAFM system.
- Operational Uptime: Maintain 100% operational resilience across all critical tenant infrastructure, including critical cooling systems (UPS/Chillers), tenant power distribution, and localized HVAC/FCU plant.
- Subcontractor Governance: Supervise, induct, and audit specialist supply chain vendors, ensuring all works comply with site-specific technical standards and quality benchmarks.
- Compliance, HSE & Technical Governance
- Statutory Compliance: Take joint accountability for the asset's statutory compliance folders, ensuring all logbooks (Emergency Lighting, Water Hygiene/L8, Fire Safety) are kept in an immaculate, audit-ready condition.
- Safe Systems of Work (SSoW): Act as a key safety authority on-site, reviewing high-risk Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and issuing Permits to Work.
- Incident Management: Lead technical investigations and root-cause analyses following any operational incidents or critical system trips, providing detailed technical reporting.
- Client Diplomacy & Account Growth
- Stakeholder Management: Build trusted relationships with the tenant's Facilities Managers and workplace teams, providing clear, professional updates and acting as the first point of escalation for technical issues.
- Commercial Support: Proactively identify system optimizations, energy-efficiency adjustments, and extra works opportunities, assisting the management team in preparing accurate quotes.
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will combine elite technical mastery with the polished, professional presentation required for a C-suite corporate headquarters.
Technical Requirements:
- Qualifications: Strictly minimum Level 3 (or equivalent) in an Electrical or Mechanical engineering discipline.
- Experience: Proven track record as a Lead Engineer or Technical Supervisor within a high-end commercial office, corporate banking, or premium tenant-facing contract.
- Systems Knowledge: Highly proficient in modern CAFM software (e.g., Concept, Maximo) and building management systems (BMS).
Professional Attributes:
- Corporate Mindset: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the capability to translate complex engineering challenges into clear, reassuring advice for the client.
- Resilience: A composed leader who can make calm, logical, and decisive technical calls during high-pressure emergency fault scenarios.
Why Join the Team?
We believe in empowering our engineering leaders and providing a world-class environment for career development:
- Premium Environment: Work within a clean, modern, and highly sophisticated corporate asset.
- Career Progression: Clear, structured pathways into Technical Account Management and Contract Management.
- Comprehensive Training: Funded access to internal leadership development programmes and advanced technical training (including HVAP/Authorised Person status).
- Excellent Benefits: Competitive pension scheme, private healthcare options, and a performance-related bonus scheme.
