Job Type: Temporary - Ongoing

Pay Rates:

  • Day Shift: £14.27/hr
  • Night Shift: £19.03/hr
  • Overtime Rate 1 (First 10 hours): £21.41/hr
  • Overtime Rate 2 (After 10 hours): £28.54/hr

Shift Patterns:

  • Hours per week: 37.5 hours (Monday to Thursday)
  • Day Shift: Monday: 07:00 - 17:15, Tuesday - Thursday: 07:00 - 16:45
  • Night Shift: Monday: 21:00 - 07:15, Tuesday - Thursday: 21:00 - 06:45

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mechanically prepare substrates to required standards using power tools.
  • Clean, fettle, stripe coat, cut in, mask out, and prepare surfaces per specification.
  • Assemble sub-assemblies, options, and major components for generator sets using engineering prints and standard work instructions.
  • Move flexibly across key operational areas, including the machine shop, fettle/paint, paintline, and assembly stations.
  • Uphold strict compliance with safety, quality, 5S initiatives, and Caterpillar's Values in Action.
  • Support team growth by training peers when required and completing other operational duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong ability to follow and comprehend detailed written and verbal work instructions, procedures, and basic arithmetic.
  • Flexibility to work reasonable amounts of overtime and various shift patterns.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience using hand/power tools and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Background in mechanical assembly, lean manufacturing, or working to fixed takt times.
  • A reasonable level of computer literacy for basic digital tracking and reporting.
