Position: Learning Support Worker
Location: Adult Day Centre near Billingshurst
Salary: £25,000 per annum FTE + £500 Joining Bonus
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
(Part-time options available: 3 or 4 full days per week)
Annual Leave: 23 days paid holiday plus bank holidays
About the Role:
We seek compassionate and dedicated individuals to support autistic learners aged 18 and over at this adult day centre. As a Learning Support Worker, your role will involve:
- Personalised Support: Provide one-on-one and small group assistance to help learners develop essential skills for well-being, independence, and social inclusion.
- Positive Interventions: Implement behaviour-driven teaching strategies to foster positive outcomes.
- Community Engagement: Facilitate real-world learning experiences by supporting learners both in their Centre for Lifelong Learning and the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Comprehensive Care: Deliver support, care, and education tailored to each learner's needs.
- Lesson Planning: Prepare and deliver activities that promote knowledge and skill development.
- Behavioural Support: Implement strategies to reduce behaviours that negatively impact the quality of life.
- Personal Care: Assist learners with personal hygiene, including toileting, dressing, and washing.
- Community Activities: Encourage participation in social, leisure, and educational activities.
- Employment Support: Help learners access work experience and employment opportunities.
- Progress Monitoring: Track and document learner progress to ensure effective support.
