Overview

As Health and Safety Manager you will drive safety compliance and lead the HSE agenda in a heavy industrial site near Corby. You will develop and mentor safety teams, oversee incident reporting, audits and contractor safety, and act as the trusted expert for investigations and return-to-work processes. Your work will support a safety-first culture, ensure RIDDOR and RAMS controls, and align with regional HSE initiatives. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to shape safety practices in a large-scale production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the organisation in site Health and Safety matters
  • Lead and develop Health and Safety teams
  • Ensure stakeholder capability and competency in H&S
  • Participate in routine safety management
  • Coordinate internal and external incident reporting
  • Prepare and submit RIDDOR reports as required
  • Oversee contractor safety
  • Conduct supplier audits, competency checks, RAMS compliance and permit controls
  • Maintain H&S systems through audits, reporting and assessments
  • Oversee investigations
  • Ensure effective reporting, circulation and closure of required actions
  • Participate in regional audits, programmes and H&S initiatives
  • Act as subject matter expert for H&S incident investigation, return to work, OH, disciplinary and grievance hearings

Key requirements

  • Driving license and use of a car
  • NEBOSH qualification
  • Tenure within production or industrial environments in an H&S capacity
  • Strong ability to influence and engage individuals on H&S matters
  • Ability to provide proactive and structured decisions on issues
  • Experience coaching and mentoring stakeholders with H&S best practice
  • Proven experience in an H&S managerial role (2+ years)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good level of IT literacy
