What will you do?
- Prepare key Control & Suspense MIS reports and follow up on outstanding balances to ensure these are cleared in a timely manner.
- Monitor and clear sub-ledger Accounting error queue (where entries can't post to an account) in a timely manner.
- Support the Ledger Maintenance function by opening certain sub-branches, transits and accounts within the general ledger and sub-ledgers.
- Support and assist with the setup of trading books, business units and customers.
- Liaise with Operations and Product Control teams to resolve issues promptly.
- Prepare monthly ledger accounts Attestation summaries for accounts under ownership.
- Maintain HO reporting deliverables schedule to ensure timely submissions across Finance.
- Analyze processes, gather requirements, look for solutions to improve and see through the implementation of these solutions.
- Interpret data using careful business-grounded logic and analytics techniques to test controls, find exceptions, and discover insights and trends.
- Support the maintenance of existing or built processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve and streamline current processes.
- Ensure adequate documentation of processes and procedures are maintained.
- Prepare and distribute daily and monthly MIS and KPIs reports, key account and inter-systems reconciliations including subledger to main Ledger and intergroup cash.
- Liaise with counterparts within Product Control and Operations (BCS) to investigate and clear breaks in a timely manner.
- Ensure the integrity of these reports by raising IT tickets where necessary.
- Ad hoc projects and tasks as required.
What do you need to succeed?
- Full Professional accountancy qualification.
- Graduate, ideally with a focus in Quantitative Engineering, Statistics or Computer Science.
- Strong Microsoft Excel quantitative, financial and analytical skills.
- Experience using ETL tools such as DataAnalze360, Dataiku or Alteryx.
- Good MS Office skills - Power BI, Word, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational, written and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
- Python, SQL, VBA programming experience is desirable.
- Ability to learn data analytics and data visualization tools.
- Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of or experience in the Financial Services industry.
