The Role

As Head of Business Studies, you will be the driving force behind the department's academic and operational success. You will act as an outstanding teaching role model while strategically leading a motivated team of educators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Formulate and execute innovative subject improvement plans, develop comprehensive schemes of work, and ensure a broad, balanced, and differentiated curriculum.
  • Team Management & Development: Recruit, manage, and motivate a high-performing departmental team, effectively deploying staff and financial resources.
  • Student Attainment: Monitor and support student progress using accurate data systems, ensuring high standards of achievement across all age and ability ranges.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, alongside a relevant undergraduate degree (management training is highly desirable).

  • Evidence of actively raising student achievement and demonstrating strong "value-added" results in your current post.
  • Deep knowledge of current curriculum developments, educational thinking, and teaching strategies within Business Studies.
