This role offers a true full-lifecycle experience, managing supply chain activities from pre-construction and groundworks right through to final project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bid & Project Support: Support bid teams during the work-winning phase by assessing supply chain risks and opportunities, and assist site commercial teams with package procurement and contract documentation.
  • Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Research, develop, and implement innovative supplier relationships, maintaining robust contract management and conducting quarterly performance reviews to drive continuous improvement.
  • Risk & Compliance: Manage commercial, ethical, and reputational risks while ensuring full compliance with safety and sustainable procurement strategies.
  • Commercial Expertise: Undertake meaningful financial appraisals of supply chain responses, supporting the development of procurement financial reports.
What We Are Looking For
  • Proven background in the Construction or Infrastructure sector, ideally with strong Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractor experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the full project lifecycle, particularly pre-construction and groundworks.
  • A solid grasp of construction contracts and how they work (NEC contract experience is highly advantageous, though not essential).
  • Highly developed market knowledge of major subcontract packages and the ability to negotiate individual terms.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification, with Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) membership highly preferred.
  • A proactive, dynamic approach—someone eager to learn, grow, and take ownership of their workload within a broader project context.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills to build collaborative relationships both internally and across the supply chain.
  • Nuclear Sector Experience: Exposure to the nuclear sector is a strong advantage, though full on-the-job training will be provided for the right candidate.
Key benefits on offer:
  • A flexible, hybrid working model (combining home working, the Manchester office, and site visits).
  • A platform for significant professional development and the opportunity to help expand the team.
  • The chance to work on high-profile, diverse construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Up to 6% matched contribution pension.
  • Car allowance (or company car), - note car needs to comply with company policy.
  • Private medical care.

  • Death in service - final salary lump sum.
  • 26 days annual leave + bank holidays, + option to buy 5, leave also increase by 1 day with every 2 years service, leave year runs Jan - Dec so it would be pro rata for this year.
