Our leading Facilities Management client is seeking a part time Kitchen Porter to join the team in Edinburgh (EH16 4S).
Start Date: May 25th, 2026
End Date: July 5th, 2026
Timings: 7 AM - 3 PM
Pay: £14/HR
Employment: Full time and Temporary
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work within established catering routines using own initiative as appropriate in the provision of an In-patient service and the use of raw ingredients within the commercial restaurant.
- Ensure equipment is stored and maintained in a clean and tidy condition.
- Report the need for equipment, structural, and fabric repairs.
- Wash crockery, cutlery, and utensils.
- Daily clean of kitchen areas.
- Daily clean of kitchen equipment.
- Keep store areas neat and tidy.
- Keep fridges & freezers organised – rotate new stock to ensure minimum waste.
- Provide porter support for deliveries.
- Provide porter support as requested by TLD management.
- Carry out other duties as may reasonably be required by TLD management.
Training:
- Undertake mandatory training commensurate with the role as-and-when required, e.g., food hygiene, Health and Safety at Work, COSHH, HACCP, fire safety, and Trust/corporate policies and procedures.
- Develop and demonstrate an understanding of any specific allergen and dietary requirements to meet patient needs.
- Must be willing to undertake multi-catering task operational training incorporating patient and retail catering.
- Hand Hygiene – part of basic hygiene refresher.
- Allergen training.
- HACCP FSMS Processes and Forms.
- Level 2 Award in Food Safety.
Qualifications and Required Experience:
- Food Safety Level 2.
