We are partnering with a reputable, global manufacturer to find an experienced Sales Engineer to take ownership of their Midlands to Southern UK territory. This is a highly visible, field-based role within our client's industrial division, focusing heavily on industrial distribution and customer partnerships. The primary focus of this role is proactive sales, building lasting relationships, and acting as the face of the brand.
While you do not need to be a fully qualified design engineer, you must be able to comfortably hold a meaningful conversation at an engineering level and demonstrate a solid understanding of manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full responsibility for a dedicated set of existing accounts, while actively winning new business and leveraging additional spend from current clients.
- Establish a strong market presence as the face of the brand, building close partnerships with process industries, and small-to-large manufacturing OEMs.
- Manage and grow relationships with major industrial distribution partners.
- Proactively define your own regional sales strategy while remaining self-sufficient to follow up on digital leads, marketing campaigns, and trade show inquiries.
- Deliver product presentations, technical support, and basic training to both customers and distribution partners.
- Maintain accurate records within Salesforce CRM and regularly report regional performance, forecasts, and action plans to the Sales Director.
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience: Proven experience in technical or industrial sales, ideally with a strong track record within the UK manufacturing or distribution sectors.
- Sector Familiarity: Prior exposure to industrial products (e.g., gearboxes, lubrication, adhesives, PPE, power transmission, or bearings or similar) is highly advantageous.
- Communication & Approach: Relationship-driven with a natural focus on building long-term partnerships.
- Technical Background: A background or knowledge base in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is highly advantageous.
- Qualifications: An HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering is preferred, though relevant industry experience is highly valued.
- A proactive, self-motivated, and autonomous approach. We want someone who is eager to learn, hungry to build relationships, and comfortable defining their own strategy.
The Role:
- Competitive Salary
- Annual bonus 10%-15%
- Company Car
- Health Insurance
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays
