An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Credit Controller with a growing and operating within the energy sector.

This Credit Controller position is based onsite in Ware and offers the chance to join a small, supportive Credit Control team within a business committed to sustainability and customer care.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Managing sensitive yet direct conversations by phone to chase outstanding debt professionally.
  • Investigating customer accounts to proactively resolve complex billing queries and issues.
  • Helping customers better understand and manage their energy accounts to prevent future debt.
  • Setting up realistic payment plans and Direct Debits for both ongoing usage and arrears.
  • Liaising closely with internal teams, providing regular updates, and reporting on portfolio performance.
  • Confidence and professionalism to manage sensitive customer conversations effectively.
  • Strong Maths and English skills, alongside strong Excel skills.
  • A tenacious and self-motivated approach to your work.
  • The ability to work independently while being a dedicated member of a small, supportive team.
  • Experience within the energy or utility sector is highly desirable.
