Client Overview: My client, Medidata, a Dassault Systèmes company, is a global leader in digital transformation for the life sciences sector. Their platform is trusted by over one million users across 2,000+ pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, and academic organisations. Medidata enables its customers to accelerate innovation, minimise risk, and improve outcomes in clinical development.

The Role: Medidata is currently seeking a highly experienced, hands-on Events Professional to join their EMEA Marketing team. This is a contract role at Senior Manager to Director level, with a strong likelihood of transitioning to a permanent position. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a wide range of high-impact events across EMEA, working within a pre-established strategy and reporting to the Senior Director of Global Events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute Medidata’s EMEA event program, including proprietary events (e.g. Medidata NEXT, Innovation Days), industry tradeshows, webinars, and bespoke account-based events.
  • Manage end-to-end event execution—from venue sourcing and vendor management to budget oversight and onsite delivery.
  • Ensure seamless collaboration with key internal stakeholders, including C-suite executives, to align event goals with broader marketing and business objectives.
  • Maintain exceptional brand representation across all touchpoints of the event experience.
  • Track performance and ROI using key metrics and continuously optimize for future initiatives.
  • Conduct site visits and secure strategic, cost-effective venues across EMEA locations such as Paris, Dublin, Vienna, Basel, and Barcelona.

Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in events management, ideally in the B2B technology or enterprise software space; life sciences or clinical research experience is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering both large-scale external events and internal meetings across multiple geographies.
  • A detail-oriented, solutions-driven professional who excels in fast-paced, agile environments.
  • Strong communicator with excellent stakeholder management and organizational skills.
  • Immediately available or available at short notice.
  • Comfortable with up to 50% travel and hybrid working (3 days per week onsite in London).
