Job Summary:
The Trade Compliance Analyst will be responsible for ensuring the organization meets the requirements for importing/exporting goods in the region.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Substantiate preferential origin of company goods under relevant preferential trade agreements.
- Populate SAP system with correct data for import/export operations.
- Assist regional and global teams in classifying products’ HTS codes.
- Compile records to substantiate country of origin claims.
- Audit import/export Customs documentation to ensure accuracy of records.
- Verify required corrective action is implemented for any inaccuracies found.
- Lead execution of existing trade compliance processes as required.
- Assist in the execution of logistics projects as required.
- Monitor and advise logistics team on export/import practices in the region.
- Ensure archiving of customs documentation is conducted in accordance with applicable country requirements.
- Proactively communicate regularly with the import brokers/freight forwarders on open issues.
- Escalate serious or significant discrepancies immediately to the attention of the Manager.
- Manage offline shipments within the region.
- Provide advice to the business on Dangerous Goods regulations.
- Act as subject matter advisor for the wider business on key topics such as product classification and origin substantiation.
- Lead process improvement initiatives with support from OPEX.
- Collate and report functional KPIs on a monthly basis.
- Other GTC-related responsibilities as needed.
Essential Requirements:
- Proven import/export compliance experience with regional knowledge gained in practice.
- Knowledge of HTS, INCOTERMs, country of origin rules, import/export laws and regulations.
- Fluent in English.
- Experience of working on SAP System.
- Graduate caliber.
- Self-starter with attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to execute professionally.
- Analytical skills necessary, but data interpretation is essential.
- Knowledge of the complexities of moving products across borders: international freight, duties, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and ocean/air carriers.
