Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Location: On-site travel to Cardiff and Essex / 1–2 days per week working from home

Travel & Expenses: Full claim for travel and expenses, £10 daily allowance for lunch, claim car parking etc.

Job Overview

An opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to join a small, tight, and busy team of 4 Project Managers, stepping in to pick up a high volume of active projects due to an internal promotion. The role involves managing the delivery of complex medical pathology and laboratory automation solutions, handling IT delivery, and arranging engineers, with active projects currently based in Cardiff and Essex.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading complex projects and driving improvements, standardization and effectiveness in processes, tools and training, using standard Project management methodology.

Major Accountabilities

  • Drive improvements, standardization, efficiency and effectiveness in processes, tools and trainings using Project management tools.
  • Lead complex projects, either standalone or automation, managing the project to hit major milestones and ensure TOR is met to deliver commercial billing.
  • Drive account governance, best practice and compliance.
  • Provide leadership for project team (internally and customer facing).
  • Assist and drive major implementation requirements for Key Account customers.
  • Develop project plans to meet the business needs in line with guidelines.
  • Success in this role is measured by Country sales, margin and EP goals, agreed win rate and retention rate, Increased TOR for defined accounts and Increased efficiency and standardization of RFP, RFI and tender responses.
  • Carry out project tasks as defined by Management, managing resource plan, installation plan and Go live expectations.
  • Conduct periodic forums, Project governance meetings internally with stakeholders, externally with Customer and third party suppliers.

Education & Qualifications

  • Prince2 qualified, or another project manager qualification.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. Bachelor's degree in business administration and marketing or equivalent Project Management qualifications / certifications e.g. Prince 2.

Background & Experience Required

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years track record in the diagnostic industry with an emphasis on managing highly complex projects in the Diagnostics industry.
  • Previous experience as program / project manager.
  • Certification and successful application of Project Management methods (green or black belt, Prince 2).
  • Knowledge: Excellent product and industry knowledge.
  • Skills: Good communicator with strong communication skills, capable of utilizing strong interpersonal, verbal, presentation and writing skills to successfully interact with subordinates, colleagues, and executive management, to influence and position solutions and project timelines across the board to achieve commercial objectives.
  • Team Oriented: Builds strong relationships at every level of the organization and is a strong motivator who knows how to influence and get others to consistently do their best work.
  • Focused: Overcomes barriers within own organization, peer organization and virtual organization.
  • Candidates must be fluent in English; additional languages are advantageous.

The position requires the willingness to travel on a frequent basis, i.e. on average three days per week (specifically to sites in Cardiff and Essex).
