About the Site

The facility is one of the largest and most advanced manufacturing sites in the network. Following circa £500 million investment over recent years, the factory is a global centre of excellence for production, manufacturing iconic brands.

Position Snapshot

We’re looking for a SHE Manager who can help shape the future of our factory. Working across a site of more than 500 colleagues, you will shape culture, behaviours and decision-making at every level of the organisation, helping create an environment where people can perform at their best while delivering world-class standards in Safety, Health and Environment.

As a key member of the factory leadership team, reporting to the Factory Manager, you will lead a team of three direct reports and a wider SHE function, bringing challenge, coaching and strategic direction to how the business delivers success.

The Opportunity

The successful candidate will lead the next phase of SHE development across the factory, helping leaders at every level build a workplace where people thrive and performance follows. Working alongside the Factory Manager and leadership team, you will provide challenge, support and strategic direction to ensure SHE considerations are embedded in operational, technical and business decisions.

You will play a key role in:

  • Shaping the factory's vision, objectives and long-term ambitions alongside the leadership team
  • Developing leadership capability and accountability across all functions
  • Driving cultural and organisational change that strengthens ownership of SHE throughout the business
  • Identifying future risks, opportunities and priorities that support sustainable performance improvement
  • Building engagement and commitment across employees, contractors and stakeholders
  • Leading and developing a team of SHE professionals, and helping grow the next generation of SHE talent
  • Acting as a trusted advisor and coach to leaders across the factory

What Will Make You Successful

We’re looking for someone who combines strong leadership and influencing capability with a sound understanding of operational risk and manufacturing environments. You will be equally comfortable engaging with operators on the shop floor, supporting line managers and challenging senior leaders across the factory.

You are likely to bring:

  • Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing, processing or operational environment
  • The ability to build alignment and commitment across multiple stakeholders
  • Experience leading change, shifting culture and embedding new ways of working
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with practical delivery
  • A track record of coaching and developing individuals and teams
  • A sound understanding of Safety, Health and Environmental management systems and legal compliance
  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) is preferred but not essential for candidates who can demonstrate exceptional leadership, influence and change management capability within a manufacturing environment

Most importantly, you will be someone who can bring people together, create momentum for change and help the factory achieve its ambitions through engaged, capable and accountable leadership.

What You Can Expect From Us

You’ll join one of the most significant manufacturing sites, at a point where the factory is investing heavily in its people, its capability and its future. You’ll sit on a leadership team that takes SHE seriously as a driver of performance, not a bolt-on. You’ll have real scope to shape strategy, develop a strong team, and build a legacy in one of our flagship factories — with the development, exposure and career progression that comes with a site of this scale.
