Due to complex user needs and a significant increase in the volume of Service Users, Randstad are keen to recruit experienced Support Workers to provide assistance to users within the services of Older People or Adult Learning Disability in Day Centres across Belfast and Newtownabbey.

Requirements:

  • NISCC registration essential
  • Candidates will be subject to enhanced vetting including an enhanced Access NI check and compliance due to the nature of this work
  • Minimum 6-12 months previous Health Care Assistant or Support Work experience essential
  • NVQ level 2 in Health & Social Care desirable
  • Immunisation records fully up to date inclusive of MMR
  • Previous experience within a day centre or residential health care setting highly desirable
  • Ability to build rapport
  • Strong interaction and engagement skills
  • Caring and compassionate approach
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily assistance to the management team within a Day Centre environment
  • Interact and develop caring & professional relationships with all Service Users
  • Engagement with users which may be non-verbal
  • Full involvement in the planning & execution of Therapeutic activities
  • Mobility assistance
  • Assisting with meals, feeding and hydration
  • Toileting & Personal Care if required
  • Basic administration and reporting
