Randstad has an opportunity available for an experienced Maintenance Technician / Plumber to work in the Castlereagh campus of the Belfast Metropolitan College.

Requirements:
- Hold a qualification BTEC National, GNVQ Advanced, or NVQ Level 3 or above in a relevant subject together with a minimum of two years' experience of working in a Mechanical Maintenance related field in a large complex estate
- Hold an industry-recognised Level 3 qualification such as: Level 3 NVQ diploma in Plumbing and domestic heating, Level 3 NVQ diploma in Heating and ventilating or a Level 3 diploma in Engineering Maintenance (Mechanical)
- The role may be based at any of the Colleges locations, and there may be a requirement to travel between sites.
- To maintain a valid CSR Card
- Candidates will be subject to enhanced vetting (including an enhanced access NI check)
- Experience working in a large estate delivering a maintenance, building services function (heating & Ventilation, BMS etc)
- Experience of planning, prioritising and organising works including ordering materials and completion of works
- Proven Knowledge of Health & Safety related procedures
Responsibilities:
- To identify, carry out and complete Hard FM Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programmes ensuring that Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met in line with College's requirements.
- To carry out designated planned maintenance including projects and reactive remedial works internally and externally on behalf of the College across all sites in accordance with statutory, mandatory and economic requirements.
- To carry out alterations and improvements to buildings and building services to agreed specifications and timescales.
- Assist in identifying/ controlling parts/ spares required in line with financial regulations, including managing stock for core trade.
- To carry out identified checks and maintenance as required; accurately log information and maintain records.
- Investigate and identify faults and work on your own initiative to resolve issues in an efficient manner.
- To assist with emergency situations i.e. flood, loss of services, emergency evacuations, extreme weather conditions and any other situation which may arise.
- To maintain and demonstrate a sound knowledge of all mechanical systems within the building services environment
- To carry out work to existing systems including working at height, working in restricted spaces, work in severe temperature and contact with human waste products.
- To ensure all wiring, mechanical assemblies, procedures and all engineering related issues are successfully resolved, documented and followed up.
- Supervisory responsibility is limited to the allocation & checking of work for quality and quantity.
- To ensure that adequate supplies of Hard FM materials and other consumables are requisitioned and managed to ensure continuous supply to facilities and demonstrate effective use of resources.
