Due to the increased demands across Children & Family Services, Randstad are keen to recruit experienced Social Work Assistants who will become an integral part of an experienced Social Care team providing invaluable support to senior Social Workers and management teams in the delivery & provision of efficient and effective services to children & families across Northern Ireland.

Requirements
- NISCC Registration Essential
- 6-12 months previous Social Care experience essential & UK Drivers Licence
- Social Work Degree, BTEC or NVQ Level 3 in a Health & Social Care discipline essential
- Candidates will be subject to enhanced vetting including an enhanced Access NI check and compliance due to the nature of this work

Responsibilities
- Responsible for assisting social work managers in the provision of quality social work services to children, young people and families.
- Working within a Children's Services Team undertaking tasks allocated by the Social Work Team Manager to support social workers in the discharge of their duties.
- Undertake work with children and/or parents/carers as directed by the Social Work Manager, Senior Social Work Practitioner or Social Worker in keeping with any support/protection/care plan and in their family support cases.
- Complete tasks such as coordinating family support, diversionary and respite services, sourcing appropriate family support services and other resources.
- Collate essential information about children and families and report this back to the Social Worker/ Team Manager to assist in the assessment of the families circumstances and needs.
- Assist children and/or parents/carers with practical tasks including transport in respect of identified appointments, delivering advice and guidance in relation to parenting tasks for example routines and boundaries, behaviour management, home care management, budgeting and essential form filling as necessary.
- Assist in delivery of contact services including the supervision of contact arrangements. This will include transport issues and ensuring completion of appropriate documentation.
- Report to Team Manager and/or Social Worker immediately all identified child protection concerns or other areas of concern or risk identified.
- Support social work staff as requested with administrative tasks in relation to making referrals to other agencies, setting up meetings, making arrangements for family time including room bookings and supporting with duty tasks.
