Requirements

  • NVQ level 2/3 in Health & Social Care or Child Development, Youth work or Early Years
  • 2 years' work experience preferably in a Residential setting working with young people with learning disabilities and/or challenging behaviours
  • Full flexibility as per rota requirements for days, evenings, weekends & night shifts
  • Candidates will be subject to enhanced vetting/compliance checks including an Enhanced Access NI check due to the nature of this work
  • Immunisation records inclusive of MMR must be provided in order to complete an Occupational Health assessment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast environment showing patience, resilience, empathy and a willingness to develop and support

Responsibilities

  • Daily support to key workers and management teams assisting in the care and development of children with complex behavioural needs and/or learning difficulties
  • 121 support
  • Create a safe and nurturing environment for young people within your care
  • Respond calmly and effectively to the demands of a young person whilst supporting and encouraging development
  • Updating care plans and reports per shift ensuring data integrity and accuracy of information
  • Contributing and participating to reviews, staff meetings, in-service training, supervision and individual programmes of care in respect to each young person
