Are you a compassionate and resilient professional dedicated to making a tangible difference in the lives of young people? We are currently seeking Floating Support Workers for exciting Temp-to-Perm opportunities with a leading specialist youth charity.
Location: Newry
The Opportunity
In this role, you will provide vital interventions to young people aged 16-25, helping them build the skills and confidence necessary to maintain their own homes and live independently. You will act as a mentor, advocate, and practical guide, ensuring that the young people you support have the best possible start to their adult lives.
Benefits
- 35 hours per week with a generous starting holiday entitlement of 36 days (inclusive of bank holidays).

Requirements
- A valid NISCC registration, as well as enhanced vetting / compliance checks including an Enhanced Access NI check due to the nature of this work, this may include a Barred List check for both Children & Vulnerable Adults (depending on the role).
- 1 year of experience working with young people in supported housing or community-based support OR a relevant degree (Social Work, Youth & Community Work) plus 6 months of experience.
- Proven experience in risk assessment, safety planning, and support planning.
- A full, current driving license with access to a car insured for business use.
- High level of resilience, compassion, and the ability to work autonomously in a challenging environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and group-based support tailored to individual needs.
- Take the lead in creating safety plans and identifying support plans in partnership with young people.
- Empower young people to understand their housing rights and assist them with benefit claims and financial planning.
- Offer practical 'hands-on' support with life skills and managing a home.
- Work effectively within a skilled team and network with external agencies to improve outcomes for young people.
