Randstad have an opportunity available for a Library Assistant to provide front line support to students in Belfast Metropolitan College, Millfield Campus.

Requirements:
- Previous Library Assistant experience highly desirable
- Previous Administrative support experience within the Education or Public sector highly desirable
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade C and Above) or equivalent
- Good general IT skills - Microsoft Word, Excel
- Excellent admin and customer service skills
- Candidates will be subject to enhanced vetting / compliance checks including an Enhanced Access NI check due to the nature of this work, this may include a Barred List check for both Children & Vulnerable Adults (depending on the role)
Responsibilities:
- Providing Information Retrieval support
- Providing front line ICT Learner support
- Operating automated library systems
- Maintaining and supporting the organisation of the College Library and Information collection
- Assist and guide learners in retrieving relevant information in print, non-print formats and information from online sources
- Demonstrate the use of the range systems for accessing print, non-print, online resources
- Demonstrate and support the use of a core range software packages and support the use of other Library and Information based learning support equipment
- Provide assistance in the promotion and marketing of learning resources and Library and Information services in the College
- Deal with front line learner IT support requests within Library and Information Centres, providing assistance and guidance in the use of core software packages and systems or referring these support requests on to other relevant support services
