About the Role

We are an innovative engineering company specializing in the design and development of advanced electric drive systems for the automotive and mobility sectors. We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Hardware Engineer to drive the design, validation, and production release of robust power electronics hardware. In this role, you will own the full hardware life cycle - from initial concept to high-volume manufacturing - ensuring designs meet strict performance, reliability, and cost targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full-Lifecycle Design: Develop hardware for DC-DC converters, traction inverters, and battery chargers, taking designs from concept and schematic capture through to production release.
  • Design for Manufacture (DFM): Apply structured methodologies (WCA, FMEA, Tolerance Analysis, Derating) to guarantee designs are robust against environmental variation and suitable for mass production.
  • Prototyping & Testing: Oversee prototype build, bring-up, debugging, and validation, including EMC evaluation and thermal assessment.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Embedded firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to align hardware with control logic and production requirements.
  • Supplier Engagement: Support component selection, life cycle management, and root-cause analysis for production or supplier issues.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Industry Experience: Proven background in power electronics hardware design within automotive, industrial, motorsport, or broader electrification applications.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of power electronics topologies (e.g., three-phase inverter bridges, CLLC resonant converters, PFC circuits).
  • Tool Proficiency: Strong experience with electronic CAD tools (Altium Designer preferred) and simulation software (MATLAB/Simulink, LTspice, or similar).
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Solid understanding of PCB fabrication/assembly constraints, EMC compliance, and production testing requirements.
  • Problem Solving: Exceptional ability to debug complex systems and drive root-cause investigations.
