Python is the key skill needed, along with SQL, AWS experience, and Terraform. For example, building investment analysis platforms using Python.
C# / .NET is desirable but not as critical, mainly for changes to microservices rather than new builds in C#, and for Windows migration work.
Investment management / FS experience, such as working on investment and fund services and platforms, integration with investment management services, and collaboration with investment teams, quants, and analysts, will set candidates apart from non-FS candidates.
All candidates need very strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as a good energy level to work in a high-performing client engineering team.
Knowledge of using AI tools in engineering is very helpful, for example, Claude Code and Codex.
