Role Overview
As a Project Manager, you will lead large-scale and complex digital, transformation, and change projects with Change and Capital Programme. You will oversee end-to-end project delivery from initiating proposals to embedding long-term operational improvements. This role is key to modernizing clinical/non-clinical systems, delivering service re-designs, and realizing financial savings.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Governance & Planning: Develop and maintain core project deliverables including Project Initiation Documents (PIDs), baseline schedules, and RAID logs using standard project management methodologies.
- Stakeholder & Change Management: Act as a change agent by building strong working relationships, facilitating workshops, leading project boards, and managing resistance to new ways of working.
- Delivery & Budget Oversight: Monitor project milestones, manage delegated project budgets, and track cost-improvement plans (CIP) to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Service Transition & Training: Conduct baseline/benefits analyses, oversee benefits realization, and design/deliver end-user training to clinical and non-clinical staff.
- Reporting & Escalation: Provide regular progress updates (using RAG status and highlight reports) to senior management forums, management teams, and executive boards.
- Mentorship: Coach and support junior project management and business analyst team members.
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Post-graduate qualification.
- Recognised Project Management certification (e.g., APM PMQ / PRINCE2 or equivalent experience).
Experience & Knowledge:
- Proven experience in delivering complex, large-scale projects and change initiatives in a large organization.
- Hands-on experience applying formal project and change management principles.
- Strong knowledge of data protection, Information Governance, and process mapping.
- Desirable: Familiarity with clinical environments, SystmOne, or Patient Administration Systems.
