Location: Gloucestershire, UK (Hybrid: 2-3 days/week on-site)

Contract Rate: Up to £440 / day (Inside IR35)

About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Lead .NET Developer to join one of our leading technology clients based in Gloucestershire. In this role, you will serve as the technical authority for the engineering team, guiding system architecture, ensuring high code quality, and driving the deployment of scalable, secure enterprise .NET applications. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product Owners, QA, and DevOps while mentoring software engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership & Solution Design: Guide architectural decisions and design scalable, secure, and efficient .NET Core Web API applications.
  • Code Quality & Mentorship: Perform thorough code reviews, enforce best practices, and coach team members to support technical growth.
  • DevOps & Deployment: Oversee CI/CD pipelines, cloud application deployment, and continuous performance monitoring.
  • Stakeholder & Delivery Management: Partner with QA, DevOps, and Product Owners to manage deadlines and drive project milestones.
  • Optimization & Troubleshooting: Identify performance bottlenecks, optimize database queries, and ensure compliance with security standards.

Key Requirements

  • Core .NET Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with .NET Core, ASP.NET Core Web API, C#, ADO.NET, and Entity Framework / EF Core.
  • Database & Front-End: Proficiency in MS SQL Server along with TypeScript, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, CSS3, and Bootstrap.
  • Modern AI Tools: Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot and Prompt Engineering.
  • DevOps Experience: Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployment practices.
  • Location: Ability to work on-site in Gloucestershire 2-3 days per week.
