Senior iOS Engineer - Core Experience (Contract) Location: United Kingdom (Remote) Role Type: Contract Experience Level: Senior (8+ years) About the Role We are seeking a Senior iOS Engineer to join a world-class consumer streaming platform on a contract basis. In this role, you will help shape core user-facing experiences for millions of families globally, while maintaining and scaling foundational application frameworks used across multiple distributed engineering squads. This position bridges two critical areas: building privacy-first features for young audiences and families (such as managed accounts, parental controls, and shared listening experiences) and evolving foundational UI architectures (navigation stacks, core layouts, and app settings). What You'll Do Build Trusted Experiences: Architect and deliver robust iOS features designed for families, kids, and teens, balancing seamless user experience with rigorous privacy, youth safety, and regulatory requirements. Scale Core Foundations: Maintain and evolve app-wide platform components-including main layout engines, navigation frameworks, and settings architectures-ensuring backward compatibility and high reliability for dependent squads. Adopt Agentic Workflows: Actively use agentic-first development methodologies and tools to accelerate prototyping, code review, and implementation workflows. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Managers, Product Designers, Data Scientists, and Legal/Policy stakeholders to move features from ideation and rapid experimentation to global release. Maintain Engineering Excellence: Write clean, idiomatic Swift code, build scalable APIs, optimize runtime performance, and ensure comprehensive automated test coverage across codebases.What We're Looking For 8+ years of dedicated iOS software engineering experience shipping high-scale consumer applications. Agentic-First Mindset: Hands-on experience integrating modern agentic tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor) directly into your daily development, testing, and architecture workflows. Modern Swift & Architecture: Deep expertise in modern Swift, Cocoa design patterns, robust API design, and modular platform architecture. System Integration: Solid understanding of end-to-end client-server architecture, networking protocols, and mobile-to-backend communication. Quality & Scalability: Proven track record of designing shared components where backward compatibility, API stability, and documentation are primary considerations. Collaborative Mindset: Strong communication skills with an ability to translate legal/policy guidelines into technical requirements, prioritizing team outcomes over individual focus.Nice to Have Working familiarity with C++ or Android development for cross-platform shared codebases and tooling.Prior experience designing digital products around data privacy, child online safety regulations, or parental controls.
