The Role
We are recruiting for our client, one of the UK's largest telecommunications and network providers. They need a contract Planning & Performance Specialist to act as the vital "gatekeeper" for their massive Networks division. You will be the single point of contact for external business units, managing all incoming project and resource demands. Your job is to ensure the team only works on high-priority, fully funded initiatives while keeping senior stakeholders aligned.
What you'll be doing:
- Demand & Stakeholder Management: Act as the main contact for incoming network requests, managing conflicting priorities and challenging senior stakeholders when necessary.
- Financial Governance: Monitor monthly portfolio spend alongside commercial teams to prevent unfunded work.
- Planning & Change Control: Manage the annual planning process and handle mid-year change impacts across the business.
- Data & KPI Reporting: Own the KPI reporting framework, turning portfolio data into clear, actionable insights for leadership.
- Process Improvement: Standardize ways of working to simplify engagement across different business areas.
What we need:
- Telecom/Network Background: You must have experience working within a major telecom operator or large-scale network infrastructure provider.
- PMO/Portfolio Expertise: Proven track record in demand intake, resource planning, and financial tracking.
- Strong Influence: The ability to handle pushback, manage senior expectations, and communicate tough decisions.
- Data Literacy: Experience building dashboards and resolving conflicting project data.
