The
Opportunity: In this role, you will lead daily clinical coding operations and data quality initiatives within an NHS setting.
You will supervise and mentor clinical coders, perform accurate ICD-10 and OPCS-4 coding, and resolve data quality issues to support financial flows and operational requirements.

- Coding & Data
Quality: Extract and record complex clinical data using ICD-10 and OPCS-4 standards, ensuring high accuracy to support HRGs and NHS financial flows.
Team Supervision & Mentoring: Supervise and mentor Clinical Coders and Data Quality Officers, conduct performance reviews (PDRs), and resolve technical coding queries.
Audit & Compliance: Assist in executing clinical coding audit programs, maintaining compliance with national Pb R timetables and Data Security and Protection (DSP) toolkit standards.
Stakeholder
Engagement: Educate clinical and non-clinical staff on coding guidelines, data quality importance, and outpatient procedurally focused documentation.
Your Experience
Qualifications & Credentials: National Clinical Coding Qualification (NCCQ/ACC) is mandatory.
NHS Expertise: Substantial experience in clinical coding within the NHS across a wide range of specialties.
Data Quality & Financial
Knowledge: Strong understanding of data quality correction, HRGs, and financial flows.
Leadership & Coaching: Experience supervising, coaching, or training junior clinical coding staff.
