We are seeking an empathetic, highly organised, and reliable University Support Assistants to empower students in Aberdeen in navigating their daily academic and social campus life. In this hands-on role, you will work directly with students to build independence, manage academic workloads, reduce stress, and foster positive social connections.
Key Responsibilities
- Academic & Transition Support
- Organisation & Planning: Assist students in using planners, digital calendars, and task-management tools; break down large assignments and long-term projects into actionable, manageable steps.
- Classroom Assistance: Guide students to lecture theatres and classrooms, assist with settling in, and prompt effective note-taking or the use of assistive technology as needed.
- Campus Navigation: Provide timely reminders and gentle prompts to ensure smooth transitions between classes, lectures, and campus activities.
Key Qualifications & Attributes
- Strong organisational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and active listening skills with a patient, non-judgemental approach.
- Ability to maintain a calm, reassuring demeanour under pressure.
- Experience supporting individuals with diverse learning styles or sensory needs is highly desirable.
