Randstad Student Support is recruiting Specialist one-to-one Study Skills Support Workers to work with students who have specific learning difficulties (SpLDs) studying at Universities and/or Colleges in ABERDEEN. The role is hybrid, requiring travel to the local university or college to offer both in-person and online sessions flexibly to meet student preferences.
As a Specialist one-to-one Study Skills Support Worker, you will provide learning support and academic guidance. This includes creating an individual learning plan tailored to the student’s needs and encouraging them to become an independent learner.
Responsibilities
- Develop independence

- Create strategies around organisation and time management
- Create action plans to stay on track with studies
- Build on research skills – widening knowledge using a variety of sources
- Distinguish appropriate sources and how to use references correctly
- Build on comprehension skills within reading and writing
Qualifications
As this is a specialist role, you must hold membership with one of the following professional bodies. All students you will be supporting are funded by the Disabled Students Allowance (DSA), so all candidates must adhere to the qualification framework set out by the DfE:
- British Dyslexia Association (BDA)
- Professional Membership The Association of Dyslexia (ADSHE)
- Dyslexia Guild
- The Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (PATOSS)
