Randstad Student Support is recruiting Specialist-one-to-one Study Skills Support Workers to work with students who have specific learning difficulties (SpLDs) studying at Universities and or Colleges in Belfast. The role is set to begin and is a hybrid role. All successful candidates must be able to travel to the local University or college and offer both in person and online sessions flexibly to meet student preferences.
Responsibilities
- Develop independence
- Build on strengths and learning strategies
- Create strategies around organisation and time management
- Create action plans to stay on track with studies
- Build on research skills – widening knowledge by using a variety of sources
- Distinguish appropriate sources and how to correctly use references
- Build on comprehension skills within reading and writing
Requirements for the Role
- Membership with one of the following professional bodies: British Dyslexia Association (BDA), The Association of Dyslexia (ADSHE), Dyslexia Guild, or The Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (PATOSS).
- All candidates must adhere to the qualification framework set out by the DfE as students are funded by the Disabled Students Allowance (DSA).
- All students supported are funded by DSA and must comply with the DfE qualification framework.

- Ability to identify ways of helping students to build on their learning strengths whilst maintaining a confidential and professional working relationship
