Job Description

Join Randstad Tuition Services: Make a Real Difference as an Expert Tutor/Teacher

Are you a qualified and experienced educator motivated to change lives? Do you believe every child deserves the chance to reach their full potential?

Randstad Tuition Services is looking for talented and reliable professionals to join our team, providing essential support to some of the UK's most vulnerable learners.

About Randstad Tuition Services

For over 30 years, Randstad has been a trusted partner in education, supporting children from primary through to further education. As a Department for Education (DfE) registered and quality-assured intervention provider, we partner with over 145 local authorities and 4,500 schools nationwide. Our mission is to deliver high-impact, tailored academic and pastoral interventions that unlock potential and elevate pupil outcomes. In the last two years alone, we have delivered more than 700,000 hours of tailored support.

The Children We Support

The support you provide is key to helping pupils overcome challenges and progress to the next step in their journey. The needs of each child are unique and often complex. We work with a diverse range of learners, many of whom face significant barriers to education. You will be supporting:

  • Vulnerable Learners: This includes children at risk of exclusion, those with social-emotional struggles, children looked after (CLA), and those with a social worker who may have experienced adversity such as domestic abuse, neglect, or trauma.
  • Pupils with SEND/SEMH: We provide tailored support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, such as Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, dyslexia, and sensory or mental health difficulties.
  • Children Missing Education (CME): You will help to re-engage learners who have been out of education for prolonged periods, creating a pathway back to school.
  • Pupils Needing Catch-Up and ESOL Support: This includes pupils who need to bridge learning gaps, which have widened since the pandemic, and those for whom English is not their first language, such as Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC).

The Role: What You'll Be Doing

As a Randstad Tutor, you will enhance lives by facilitating the learning process and enabling pupils to achieve their goals. You will be responsible for creating a safe, relaxed, and enjoyable learning environment where every child has an opportunity to learn.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering Tailored Support: Provide academic tuition (in core subjects like English and Maths) and non-academic pastoral support such as mentoring.
  • Flexible Delivery: Conduct sessions online in our secure virtual classroom or face-to-face, on a one-to-one or small-group basis (maximum 1:3 ratio). Sessions can be scheduled during the day, evenings, weekends, or school holidays.
  • Building Positive Relationships: Establish rapport and trust with pupils, which is crucial for building their confidence and engagement. 90% of parents and carers report a positive impact on their child's confidence through our tuition.
  • Using a Data-Driven Approach: Utilise our Randstad Assessment Tool to conduct baseline assessments, generate personalised learning pathways, and track pupil progress to demonstrate impact. Recent data shows 94% of our pupils make progress, with assessment scores increasing by an average of 54% over 12 weeks.

What We Offer You: Support to Help You Excel

We believe our tutors are our most valuable asset, and we are committed to supporting you every step of the way. We provide:

  • Continuous Professional Development (CPD): We are dedicated to keeping your skills sharp and up-to-date. You will have free access to over 25 accredited e-learning courses on topics like Safeguarding, Autism Awareness, and Mental Health. We also offer specialised training such as Team-Teach and online CPD workshops.
  • Career Growth Opportunities: Through our partnership with National University, we offer employees a 25% tuition reduction scholarship on a wide range of associate, bachelor's, and master's degree programmes to support your career pathing.
  • Flexible and Rewarding Work: We offer a variety of assignments, from day-to-day to long-term placements, allowing you to work when you want to. We offer one of the most generous and flexible benefits schemes in the industry, including enhanced holiday, life assurance, pension schemes, and an employee discount app.
  • Dedicated Support: You will have a dedicated consultant as your single point of contact to ensure seamless communication and support throughout your assignments with us.

Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking compassionate, dedicated, and experienced individuals who are passionate about making a difference. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., QTS) and experience in teaching, tutoring or mentoring.
  • Experience supporting pupils with diverse needs, particularly SEND/SEMH, and vulnerable learners.
  • The ability to build positive, trusting relationships and create engaging, thought-provoking sessions.
  • A commitment to safeguarding. All our tutors undergo a rigorous recruitment process, including enhanced DBS checks and mandatory safeguarding training in line with KCSIE regulations.

If you are ready to take on a challenging but hugely rewarding role and help shape the future for children and young people, we want to hear from you.
