Do you want to help students unlock their academic potential and overcome learning barriers? Randstad Student Support is seeking qualified, enthusiastic Specialist Study Skills Tutors to work with students across Scotland. In this rewarding role, you will provide essential, one-to-one support to students with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs) such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, or ADHD, empowering them to develop the lifelong study habits they need to succeed.
About the Role
As a Specialist Study Skills Tutor, your focus is on how a student learns, rather than what they learn. You won't be teaching subject-specific course content; instead, you will introduce highly personalised strategies that help students process information, manage workloads, and demonstrate their true knowledge in assignments and exams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored, 1-to-1 study skills sessions to students with dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD, or other neurodivergent learning profiles.
- Teach practical strategies for academic reading, advanced essay structuring, note-taking, and critical thinking.
- Help students improve their executive functioning skills, including time management, organisation, and revision planning.
- Introduce and guide students in using assistive technology (such as text-to-speech software or mind-mapping tools).
