Are you looking for a flexible role? Are you good at Tutoring? Then Randstad may just have the perfect role for you. This SpLD Tutor role has already begun at the start of the new academic year and is a hybrid role. All successful candidates must be able to travel to the University of Nottingham and offer both in person and online sessions flexibly to meet student preferences.
As a Specialist-one-to-one Study Skills Support Worker with Randstad, you will provide learning support and academic guidance. This includes creating an individual learning plan that has been tailored to the student's needs and encourages them to become an independent learner.
As a Specialist-one-to-one Study Skills Support Worker, you are required to support students to:
- Develop independence.
- Build on strengths and learning strategies.
- Create strategies around organisation and time management.
- Create action plans to stay on track with studies.
- Build on research skills - widening knowledge by using a variety of sources.
- Distinguish appropriate sources and how to correctly use references.
- Build on comprehension skills within reading and writing.
Whilst working for Randstad, the needs of individual students should be taken into consideration case by case and you should ensure that any concerns are addressed in a timely manner. It is expected that you would act professionally and maintain confidentiality within your role at all times, sharing all relevant information with Randstad to ensure the best possible service to your students.
Requirements for the role:
As this is a specialist role, you must hold membership with one of the below relevant professional bodies. All students you will be supporting are funded by the Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) meaning all candidates providing this role must adhere to the qualification framework set out by the DfE:
- British Dyslexia Association (BDA)
- Professional Membership The Association of Dyslexia (ADSHE)
- Dyslexia Guild
- The Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (PATOSS)

Desirable skills include:
- Experience of working with clients with specific learning difficulties
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
