Mobility Trainer (Higher Education) About the Role We are seeking qualified Mobility Trainers to provide essential orientation and mobility training to higher education students in Lancaster.

In this role, you will deliver time-limited, individualised orientation programmes to enable visually impaired students and students with other complex orientation needs to travel safely, efficiently, and independently around campus.

Key Responsibilities - Conduct professional location and route assessments across campus buildings, lecture halls, libraries, and surrounding transport hubs. - Design and execute tailored, time-limited mobility and orientation training plans based on individual student needs. - Teach safe route-finding techniques, spatial awareness, and the use of mobility aids (e. g., long cane, navigation tools). - Liaise accordingly to ensure appropriate environmental adjustments and support measures are in place. - Monitor student progress, review support goals, and promote long-term student independence.
