Randstad Student Support is actively recruiting highly motivated Specialist Mentors to work with students who have disabilities or mental health conditions at Universities and Colleges. You will serve as a trusted advisor, supporting students throughout the academic year (starting at the new academic year/September), helping them reflect on their study experiences and implement strategies to overcome barriers.

Your Role in Student Success (1-to-1 Support): You will empower students to build confidence and become independent learners by focusing on key development areas:

  • Creating effective strategies for organisation and time management.
  • Breaking down academic tasks to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Helping students achieve a healthy balance between their study commitments and daily living.
  • Introducing management techniques for anxiety, stress, or low mood, and preparing them for new experiences.
  • Building on personal strengths to promote self-sufficiency.

Essential Role Requirements:

  • Ability to travel to local university or college sites to offer required in-person sessions.
  • Commitment to acting professionally, maintaining confidentiality, and addressing all concerns promptly.
  • Counselling & Therapy: BACP (Registered/Accredited), BABCP (Full), BPC, NCPS (Accredited), UKCP (Full), COSCA, ISPC, IACP, ACP, or ACC.
  • Psychology: BPS (Chartered/Graduate with PG degree & CPD) or HCPC (Practitioner Psychologist).
  • Nursing & Healthcare: NMC (Mental Health/Psychiatric Nurse), GMC (Psychiatry), or HCPC (Arts/Occupational Therapist).
  • Social Work & Support: Social Worker (SWE / SCW / NISCC) or UMHAN (Accredited Practitioner).
  • Addiction Support: NCAC (Addiction Professionals).
