About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, resilient, and highly adaptable 1:1 Specialist Tutor to deliver a combined academic and therapeutic learning package for a bright 15-year-old student (Year 10) who presents with complex Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The student is academically capable (working near or at age-related expectations in key areas) but has experienced early childhood trauma. He requires a strong, nurturing, and trauma-informed approach to help him build focus, manage sensory/regulation needs, and engage safely with learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Academic Delivery (10 hrs/week): Deliver engaging, tailored 1:1 sessions in core subjects (Maths, English, Science) using short, structured "chunked" tasks to accommodate attention needs.
- Therapeutic & Pastoral Support (15 hrs/week): Facilitate life-skills activities (e.g., cooking, community access), sensory-regulation breaks, and social-emotional development.
