We are an independent specialist school with capacity for 50 students, supporting children and young people aged 5-19 with Autism spectrum conditions and associated challenges in accessing education. As a Teaching Assistant, you'll be a key part of our pupils' journey - supporting their learning, wellbeing, and personal development in a safe and nurturing environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils with learning activities and care needs
- Promoting independence and positive behaviour
- Building warm, trusting relationships that help pupils feel safe and valued
- Assisting teachers in delivering a broad, balanced, and engaging curriculum
- Adapting to the varied needs of pupils and being flexible in your approach
What We're Looking For
We're seeking someone who is:
- Compassionate, enthusiastic, and child-focused
- Flexible and ready to support wherever needed
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
Essential:
- GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C/Level 3 or above)
- Experience working with SEN (paid or voluntary)
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
Desirable:
- Level 2+ qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Knowledge of SEN, SEMH, or ASD
