As an established recruitment partner, we are looking for a true technical authority-someone who doesn't just check water parameters, but understands the intricate chemistry behind closed systems, cooling towers, and steam boilers to protect client assets and ensure total compliance.

This is a high-impact, technical lead position.
You will oversee the chemical control, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement for a diverse portfolio of commercial, industrial, and public sector clients.
Balancing hands‑on technical analysis with strategic client advisory, you will act as the go‑to expert for complex water regimes while mentoring the next generation of engineers and technicians on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake chemical analysis, system monitoring, and dosing adjustments for cooling towers, steam boilers, evaporative systems, and closed heating/chilled systems.
- Ensure all site operations strictly align with ACOP L8 and HSG274 guidance.
Support the implementation of Legionella control measures, Written Schemes of Control, and meticulous site logbooks.
- Act as the technical lead for client accounts, delivering practical recommendations for system efficiency, chemical regimes, and remedial risk mitigation.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to Service Chemists and Technicians. Assist with RAMS development, complex problem escalation, tenders, and new client mobilisations.
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 3-5 years' hands‑on experience within water treatment and hygiene, specifically covering cooling towers, steam boilers, and closed loops.
- Deep knowledge of water chemistry (p H, conductivity, microbiological control), dosing regimes, and mechanisms of corrosion, scaling, and fouling.
- Methodical, highly analytical, and confident managing your own field schedule while building strong relationships with client FM teams.
