About Us:
- Our Approach: We are an ABA school, committed to positive behaviour support and never using restraint. We focus on individualized learning plans and provide a safe, nurturing, and encouraging environment for all students.
- Small Class Sizes: Our classrooms are small, with an average of 6 students, allowing for personalized attention and individualized learning plans.
- Dedicated 1:1 Support: Every student receives 1:1 support, with dedicated assistants who work closely with the class teacher and provide personalized tutoring based on individual needs.
- A Safe and Structured Environment: We use a traffic light system to ensure everyone is aware of the situation in each corridor, creating a safe and supportive atmosphere.
- Amazing Facilities: We provide a rich and engaging learning environment, featuring trampolines, yoga rooms, sensory rooms attached to each classroom, and excellent resources, including a kitchen, IT suite, gym, and DT suite.
Our Unique Trainee Teacher Programme:
- Two-Year Programme: This is a rewarding two-year training programme that will equip you with the skills and qualifications needed to become a successful SEN teacher.
- Hands-On Experience: You\’ll start as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, providing individualized support to learners, gaining valuable experience and developing your skills.
- Professional Development: You will work towards your Level 3 TA qualification, and then qualify as a HLTA. You will then be trained as a Level 1 ABA teacher – all qualifications are completed onsite.
- Career Progression: After the programme, there are opportunities to develop further and gain QTS if desired.
Ideal Candidates:
- Have a genuine passion for working with children and young adults with special educational needs.
- Are patient, caring, and enthusiastic about supporting learners.
- Have experience working in education, children\’s homes, or EYFS (minimum 6 months).
- Have a strong understanding of the importance of individualised learning plans and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse needs.
- Are comfortable working with students who may exhibit challenging behaviour.
- Have experience with Picture Exchange Communication Systems (PECs) or other communication tools for non-verbal learners (desirable).
- Have experience with speech & language or BSL (desirable).
