This specialist school is a magnificent, OFSTED "Outstanding" school. The school is currently seeking a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support in their primary division. This role is needed on a full-time basis (5 days a week) and is a term time only role (8:45-4:45pm). This role will be to start ASAP and is a fabulous opportunity for a committed, nurturing and empathetic individual.

Applicants will be responsible for helping children from the age of 4 years with severe and complex needs including but not limited to Autism and ASD. This school is a hugely popular setting and is dedicated to offering a practical, accessible and thought-provoking curriculum for all the pupils. Each child receives a 1:1 education that is catered to their needs and goals.

As a teaching assistant you will be given the opportunity to enter a 2-year training programme where you will be given the skills (and qualifications) to become a HLTA and then SEN trainee teacher. Minimum Requirements:
  • Relevant teaching or care assistant experience (desirable)
  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
  • SEN experience (desirable)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
Responsibilities:
  • Supporting learners on a 1:1, small group and whole class basis
  • 2-year training programme to become a qualified teaching assistant, HLTA and trainee teacher
