We are working with the regional office of a Tier 1 contractor who need a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team after a number of new contract awards and opportunities to bid. They work on schemes from £20 to £120 million on both JCT and NEC forms of contract, a majority of which are framework awards in the education, MOD, MOJ, health, pharma, student and care marketplaces.
Your role is to work initially at 2nd stages to review and check programmes and cost plans and then work with supply chain to work up detailed prices for the scope of agreed works and then convert into subcontract orders. You will have a commercial team to manage, supervise and develop including experienced Project level people as well as assistant and trainee level people. With the team, you will be responsible for taking onto site, pre-start meetings and then managing and supervising the package on site.
Oversight of payments, valuations, variation accounts, administering contracts correctly, forecasting and CVR preparation and presentation to Regional Commercial Directors form part of the duties. They have experienced commercial teams to integrate into and the commercial function works seamlessly with both precon and the delivery teams to build some really interesting schemes.
Skills dealing with sub contractors. Qualifications: HNC quantity surveying. Education: BSc commercial management.
