Position: SEN teacher QTS – Full‑time, Permanent – Benfleet, Essex. Salary competitive, based on experience and qualifications. Start date: ASAP.

Overview: Randstad Education is seeking an experienced and dedicated SEN teacher to work with children with special educational needs. The role involves creating a nurturing, secure, and stimulating environment where pupils can thrive.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that meet the diverse learning needs of SEN students.
  • Develop, implement, and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs), setting clear targets and monitoring progress.
  • Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to support students' learning and development.
  • Assess pupils' abilities and progress regularly, adapting teaching methods as necessary.
  • Collaborate with parents, carers, and external agencies (e.g., therapists, psychologists) to provide holistic support.
  • Manage classroom behaviour and promote positive social and emotional development.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on pupil progress for parents and senior management.
  • Participate in professional development to stay updated on SEN best practices and legislation.

  • Experience with SEN or knowledge of learning difficulties.
  • Experience up to Key Stage 3/4.
  • QTS/PGCE equivalent.
