You will be responsible for fulfilling the duties of the Principal Designer as defined under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, ensuring health and safety is considered from the earliest stages of a project.
Responsibilities:- Take the lead role in planning, managing, monitoring, and coordinating health and safety in the pre-construction phase of projects.
- Identify, eliminate, or control foreseeable risks during the design process.
- Ensure designers comply with their duties and cooperate with each other.
- Prepare and review Pre-Construction Information (PCI) and ensure it is provided to designers and contractors.
- Prepare the Health and Safety File.
- Liaise with clients, designers, contractors, and other stakeholders on all CDM-related matters.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on CDM regulations and best practices.
- Monitor projects to ensure ongoing compliance with CDM regulations.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
- Proven experience as a CDM Principal Designer on a variety of construction projects.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Relevant professional membership (e.g., APS, IOSH) is desirable.
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite.
