The Role
This isn’t just about "covering the curriculum." It’s about breaking down barriers. You will deliver high‑quality Science lessons (GCSE and Functional Skills Level 2) to small groups of pupils with complex SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs. You will be a mentor, a scientist, and a champion for students who have often been told they can’t succeed.

We are looking for:
- QTS/QTLS: A qualified Science specialist with expert National Curriculum knowledge.
- Resilience: Experience in an SEN or PRU setting is highly desirable, but a "care‑first" attitude and strong classroom management are essential.
- Adaptability: The ability to differentiate complex concepts for learners with EHCPs and trauma backgrounds.
- Interpersonal Excellence: A high level of emotional intelligence to build rapport with "hard‑to‑reach" pupils and their families.
- Versatility: While Science is the priority, the ability to offer a second subject is a distinct advantage.
Key Requirements
- QTS/QTLS qualification for Secondary school teaching.
- Proven track record of delivering Science at KS3 and KS4 Level.
- Proven experience in a UK based SEMH/PRU School.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service.
- Deep understanding of safeguarding requirements and the impact of emotional well‑being on learning.
- Commitment to excellence and a "no‑excuses" approach to student potential.
