- Care Assistant – Island Placements (Urgent Start)
- Locations: Care Homes across Shetland, Orkney, Western Isles & Argyll and Bute
- Pay & Contract
Minimum 3‑month placement with immediate start. Pay rates: Umbrella £21.00 per hour; PAYE (Rolled‑Up) £17.91 per hour. Guaranteed 45+ hours per week.
- Shift Patterns & Hours
- 45+ hours per week.
- Work 5‑6 days per week.
- Typical shifts between 07:00 and 22:00 (including split, long days, night shifts).
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high‑quality, person‑centered care to older adults within a care home setting, following personalized care plans.
- Assist residents with personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
- Safely administer prescribed medications and monitor resident well‑being.
- Maintain a safe, supportive living environment, managing moving and handling tasks safely, and undertaking lone working duties where required.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience supporting older adults in a care setting (previous care home experience highly preferred).
- Proficient in personal care, safe moving and handling, and medication administration.
- Location flexibility: previous experience with island or remote placements is a major plus, but not essential.
- Driving license: Preferred due to travel distances, but not mandatory.
- Gender‑specific role: Female staff sought for personal care requirements; male staff may be utilized in certain circumstances.
