3-Month Block Booking Contracts: Scottish Islands

Are you looking for guaranteed hours, excellent pay, and the opportunity to work in some of Scotland's most beautiful locations? We are recruiting for both Care Home and Community Care at Home Support Workers across the Scottish Islands. Candidates can be based anywhere in the UK, provided they are happy to travel for the placement!

Locations

  • Placements available in Shetland, Orkney, Western Isles, or Argyll and Bute.

Pay and Schedule

  • Pay Rates (Both Roles): Flat rate of £23
  • Umbrella Contract: 3-month minimum commitment
  • Hours: 45+ hours per week, typically scheduled 5-6 days per week

Option 1: Care Home Support Worker

  • Duties: Supporting older adults directly within a residential care home setting.
  • Shifts: Dominantly long days (07:00 - 22:00), with potential for split shifts (07:00 - 15:00) or night working (22:00 - 07:00) depending on the placement.
  • Driving: A driving licence is not required, but it is highly preferential due to the distance from accommodation to the services.
  • Experience: Previous care home experience is preferred.

Option 2: Community Support Worker (Care at Home)

  • Duties: Supporting adults within their own homes, completing multiple visits per day.
  • Shifts: A variation of shift times covering the hours of 07:00 - 23:00.
  • Driving: A driving licence and access to your own vehicle are strictly required (a UK driving licence is specifically mandatory for Orkney placements).
  • Experience: Previous care at home experience is preferred.

Essential Requirements for All Applicants

  • Minimum of 1 year of care experience supporting older adults.
  • Must be able to provide personal care, administer medication, and utilise safe moving and handling techniques.
  • Must be comfortable and capable of lone working.
  • Previous experience in island or remote placements is highly beneficial.
  • Note: Female staff are currently preferred due to specific personal care requirements; however, male staff can sometimes be utilised.
