We currently have an exciting opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant practitioner to join an inclusive 11‑16 academy, providing key SEN support within the classroom on a 1:1 basis and working closely with other teaching staff to ensure provision is effective and that learning needs are met.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personalised SEN provision on a 1:1 basis, supporting the pupil in accessing the curriculum at an appropriate level and adapting the learning to make it accessible for students with specific needs.
  • Provide pastoral support, monitor progress to feed back to the class teacher whilst working closely with relevant staff to ensure an individual can achieve to the fullest extent.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent as a minimum
  • GCSE English and Maths at C grade or above
  • Experience of supporting pupils with SEN and utilising strategies to manage behaviours and meet needs, including supporting speech and language
  • Awareness of Child Safeguarding and the latest SEN policies to implement effective provision, including working with outside agencies to deliver EHCP provisions
  • Ability to effectively communicate on the pupil's progress, with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • QTLS or QTS
