Randstad are looking for dedicated Residential Child Care Practitioners. In this role, you will consistently provide a high-quality care experience for children and young people while maintaining practice standards consistent with Health and Social Care Standards and SSSC codes of practice. Responsibilities:
- Proactively provide therapeutic care and ensure the safeguarding of all young people.
- Act as a Key Worker when assigned, supporting the implementation of individual Child Plans.
- Support young people with health promotion, personal hygiene, and domestic tasks to develop essential self-care and life skills.
- Assist with the preparation of healthy, balanced meals that cater to individual dietary and cultural needs.
Education & Achievement:
- Take an active interest in each young person's educational development and achievements.
- Support the Alternative Curriculum and Curriculum Enrichment in a non-teaching capacity.
- Plan and provide creative, stimulating, and inclusive leisure activities within the community.
Reporting & Professional Practice:
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to monthly reports, risk assessments, and care plans.
- Embed the GIRFEC Framework and SHANARRI Indicators into daily practice to monitor outcomes.
- Participate in shift handovers to ensure all relevant information is shared with the incoming team.
- Engage in de-escalation techniques and physical intervention (CALM) when required per policy.
