Overview
We are working with an established, family owned and operated specialist contractor looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join the team on site near Castle Cary. The project is a high end, bespoke residential development for a private client with a focus on quality across procurement and delivery. The scheme is being delivered on a JCT form of contract.
Responsibilities
- Get involved at estimating stages to help with pricing and programming queries and pass on practical on site experience to the bid teams.
- Firm up enquiries and convert them into subcontract orders, place orders and manage pre‑starts on site.
- Take responsibility to manage the packages through to completion on site.
- Handle payments, valuations, variation accounts, remeasures, forecasting, CVR prep and work closely with the site management team to deliver the scheme on time.
- Make real‑time decisions on site with autonomy backed by head office support; report into the Regional Commercial Manager.
Qualifications
- HNC in Quantity Surveying.
Education
- BSc in Building Surveying.
Skills
- Dealing with subcontractors.
