This award‑winning setting is a specialist day school for autistic children and young people between the ages of 4‑18 years. It is committed to empowering individuals to make positive, personal choices that enhance their wellbeing, social inclusion and education. Since 2012, the school has provided a safe and supportive environment, where learners work closely with skilled 1:1 teaching assistants/trainee teachers to achieve their educational and personal development goals. The school boasts a modern site and exceptional facilities, including a fully equipped kitchen, sensory room, onsite gym, horticultural tunnels, cafe and IT workshops.
Role Details
- Salary: £23,000 per annum
- Hours: Term time only – Monday to Friday, 08:45am – 04:45pm
Responsibilities
In this role, you will support learners to build confidence, communication skills, problem‑solving abilities, and education goals. Each learner follows a bespoke learning plan, designed around their unique skills, educational needs and preferences. You will work closely with families and health & social care professionals to ensure that every learner receives the best possible support tailored to their aspirations and needs.
Qualifications
- Experience in an education support or care role
- Experience supporting learners with SEN (desirable)
- GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
- Right to work in the UK
Trainee Teacher Programme
This is a 2‑year programme. You start as a 1:1 TA and, over two years, receive training and support to qualify as a specialist Autism teacher.
